Hope Community Garden is 100% organic. This means that we do not use synthetic fertilizers or pesticides in our soil or on our plants. To start your organic garden, we recommend: 2 bags of potting soil (without Miracle Grow), 2 bags mushroom compost, 1 bag of cypress mulch, 2 bags top soil. We provide some fertilizer in the form of rabbit and horse manure and we have a compost pile to help you grow.
To ward off bugs, we use only organic materials such as dried molasses. We will be happy to help you navigate your way as you learn to garden organically.
